Ten time winners Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) will host FUFA Big League side Kataka, first.

The first legs will be played on the 3rd and 4th May 2025 with the return legs coming on the 17th and 18th May 2025.

The draw was graced by Isaac Ajiji (Trade Marketing, Brand and Sponsorship Manager, Stanbic Bank) and Owek. Florence Nakiwala Kiyinji (FUFA Executive Committee member) and Hajji Aisha Nalule (FUFA Competitions Director).

“Competition is getting tougher and more competitive. We shall be with FUFA for the Stanbic Uganda Cup” Isaac Ajiji remarked.

“I wish to thank the fans, sponsors, and the teams that started with 369 to now four. I congratulate the four semi-finalists. I wish you fair matches. Avoid holiganism, fixing and ill-vices” Owek. Nakiwala noted.

Some of the clubs officials present included Jackson Magera (KCCA football club head coach), Godfrey Awachango (Kataka football club head coach) and Wasswa Bbosa (Kitara football club head coach).

“We have faced similar opposition and challenges. As KCCA, we are ready to play the semi-finals and advance to the finals. I do not under rate our opponents Kataka having eliminated URA and Police, two UPL teams” Magera noted.

“I promise my people of Kitara that we shall play the finals. Vipers is a very good team but equally, Kitara is a very good team” Bbosa stated.

At the quarter final stage, Kitara eliminated BUL 1-0 in a fierce and tense battle that produced three red cards with Arthur Kiggundu scoring the all-important goal.

“Playing KCCA away first will give us the advantage to go and seal it at our home ground in Mbale. We are ready” Awachango hinted.

Kataka eliminated Police 3-0 in post match penalties at the quarter final stage after normal time had ended goal-less.

During the round of 16, Kataka also dumped out a top flight club, URA at Hamz Stadium; 5-4 in post match penalties after a 1-all stalemate in normal time.

Vipers ejected bitter rivals Sports Club Villa 1-0 at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende – thanks to a last minute gasp header by substitute Milton Karisa.

The final will be played at the newly opened Kadiba Stadium.
