KCB Bank has strengthened its commitment to this year’s Pearl of Africa Uganda rally by announcing its drivers lineup for the 9-11th May event in Mbarara.
2010 National Champion Nasser Mutebi, Africa Rally Category 2 champion Mike Mukula as well as two-wheel drive champion Oscar Ntambi make the Uganda selection of drivers that will bare the bank’s livery during the Pearl.
From Kenya, reigning African champion Karan Patel and Nikhil Sachania complete the line-up.
“The Pearl of Africa Rally is more than just a race. It’s a celebration of skill, endurance and the resilient spirit of Ugandan motorsport.
“We are proud to deepen our involvement in this iconic event, reaffirming our commitment to nurturing local talent and promoting Uganda’s potential on the regional and global stage,” said Edgar Byama, the KCB Managing Director.

Reynolds Kibira on behalf of the motorsport governing body FMU extended his appreciation to KCB Bank.
“KCB Bank has always been part of seeing this sport grow. They did not stop at sponsoring the Pearl rally but also extended support to these drivers.
“That implies they want to see an exciting event for everyone. We really appreciate their support,” he said.

The financial institution on Monday this week revealed its Ugx 80 million sponsorship to the local motorsport federation towards the smooth running of the event.
The Pearl of Africa rally will run for three days starting with the qualifying stage and shakedown on 8 May.
Rally will start proper on Friday with three stages including a super special stage at the Rukaari Resort.
