Uganda Premier League side SC Villa has boosted its technical team with the acquisition of experienced coach Ibrahim Kirya.
Reports indicate that Ibrahi Kirya will take up the role of assistant coach under Serbian gaffer Zeljko Kovacevic.
Kirya rejoins SC Villa, switching from Jinja-based BUL, where he served as the assistant coach to Abbey Kikomeko.
Kirya returns to a role he held in the 2022/23 campaign, where he worked under Jackson Magera. In that campaign, SC Villa missed out on the trophy on the final day thanks to the painful 1-0 loss to URA.
The gaffer has previously worked with different sides such as Tooro United, Wakiso Giants, Lweza FC, BUL FC, URA FC and SC Villa.
His arrival will provide experience and leadership to the club that seeks to reclaim its lost glory. The technical team has been given a new look with the arrival of Samuel Kawalya, who took over the role of goalkeeping coach.
