CHAN 2024 (Group A):

Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) edged Zambia 2-0 in group A contest at the on-going CHAN 2024 tournament.
Ibrahim Matobo Mubalu and Malanga Horso Mwaku scored DRC’s goals, both arriving in the second half.
After a goalless first half, the game was lit up when Japhte Kitambala set up Matobo inside the goal area for the opener in the 51st minute.
With 20 minutes to full-time, Oscar Kabwit assisted Malanga for the second goal.
DR Congo makes it three points following their 0-2 loss to co-hosts Kenya in the group opener.


Ten-man Kenya and Angola played to a 1-all draw in the second game on the day. Joaquim Paciencia gave Angola the lead on 7 minutes. Kenya replied through Austine Odhiambo’s 12th minute penalty.
Angola was granted numerical advantage after Marvin Nabwire was red carded in the 21st minute.
Kaporal’s would be match winner in the 96th minute was disallowed.
CHAN is played by players who feature in the respective domestic leagues on the African continent.
CHAN 2024 was delayed from the year 2024 and pushed forward to 2025.
The tournament is being played in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and Zanzibar.
