The Uganda Allstars XVs team has been named and it features some seasoned heavy hitters and future world-beaters.
The likes of Asuman Mugerwa, Mike Otto and Charles Uhuru, who were left out of the Rugby Africa Cup Uganda Cranes squad, have the opportunity to show the fans and selectors that they have only gotten better with age, while Andrew Odhiambo, Allan Olango and Norbert Okeny will show that they are not just 7s Machines, but they can cut it too in the 15s at a major level.
For the incoming youngsters like Munguachel, Mugabi and Jeremiah Okello, playing for the Uganda Allstars XVs will be a coming-of-age ritual for them, as they have shown time and again in their respective clubs that they are ready to stand up. Experienced players like Stephen ‘Buju’ Alul and Ivan Kirabo make the squad, as well as Simon Diego Olet who hasn’t played at this level post-COVID.
With some emerging and little-known talents within the Uganda Allstars squad, fans should expect exciting action on the pitch as Bave Okumu, Bob Kawanda and Denis Ofoyrwoth look to announce themselves on the national stage in a Black, Yellow and Red shirt for the first time.
Alul and Nkore bring in that winning halfback partnership that has paid dividends for the Black Pirates in the Uganda Rugby Championship, to the Uganda Allstars starting XV.
Collins Kimbowa, Brian Wandera and Pius Ogena, fresh from the Rugby Africa Cup, are also in the team to represent Uganda.
