Results

  • Lugazi 5-2 Buhimba United Saints
  • NEC 1-1 BUL

Jerome Kiirya denied Badru Kaddu a winning start to his NEC coaching career following his equalizing goal in the 1-1 draw with BUL at Lugogo.

Joseph Dhata had put the hosts in the lead in the 27th minute but Kiirya levelled matters in the additional minute of the first half.

The draw means BUL remain unbeaten in the premier league in 2025 and stretched that run to 23 matches and two more overall since they last suffered a defeat in the league – 2-0 versus UPDF on December 4, 2024.

BUL move 4th on the log with 10 points, same as Entebbe UPPC and SC Villa who are a position below and above respectively on goal difference.

NEC, with only one victory so far in five matches stay 12th with only six points.

Earlier in the day, Lugazi registered their second win of the season, the first since match day one with a comprehensive 5-2 win over newcomers Buhimba United Saints.

David Bagoole, Abdul Kalanzi, Dawson Mafumu and a brace from Freedom Mungudit earned the hosts the deserved three points turning Sadick Moro and an own goal from Richard Ayiko into mere consolations.

That was the third straight defeat for Buhimba United Saints in which they have conceded 11 goals after enjoying a three-match winning run in their start to the season.

The Bunyoro based side drop to sixth place with 9 points while Lugazi climb to 9th position with 8 points.
