Vipers SC finally secured maximum points after two consecutive draws, delivering a decisive 3-1 victory against BUL FC in the Uganda Premier League clash at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on Saturday.
The first half saw both teams create half-chances, but neither side possessed the necessary sharpness to break the deadlock.
The game burst to life shortly after the restart when Enock Ssebagala lit up the home crowd with a spectacular strike in the 48th minute, putting Vipers ahead.
However, the visitors responded quickly, with Jerome Kirya levelling matters just seven minutes later, injecting renewed excitement into the match.
Vipers quickly regained the initiative in the 57th minute when they were awarded a penalty after Milton Karisa’s header struck a defender’s hand.
Abdul Karim Watambala confidently stepped up and converted the spot-kick from the 12-yard mark in the 59th minute, restoring Vipers’ lead.
Usama Arafat then extended Vipers’ advantage with another well-taken goal, securing a comfortable driver’s seat for the hosts.
The victory lifts Vipers to second position in the table with 21 points from nine games. BUL, meanwhile, remain in 12th place with 10 points after playing ten games.
