- Third-place: Pentagon Vs Kafumbe 2 (3:00 PM)

Sport, football in particular has the power to unify, build and excite people of all ages across the divide.
The well-to-do and marginalized, young and old, male or female are all brought together under one docket by the people of football.
This has been manifested throughout the second edition of the Hamz cup which climaxes this Friday, 19th December 2025 at the Hamz stadium (Nakivubo war memorial ground).

The tournament is a brand child of filthy rich business mogul Dr Hamis “Ham” Kiggundu who started this championship as a give back gesture to the people.
Traders, business partners from markets, taxi parks and arcades have all been brought together through this tournament that only permits regional league (third division) players and below.
“The Hamz Cup is basically an initiative by Dr Hamis Kiggundu to give back to the people. It has also provided excitement, entertainment and a networking platform as well” Hakim Kasirye, a tournament organizer remarks.


Hefty cash fund:
Undoubtedly, the Hamz Cup is now the best sports tournament on the land with the biggest cash prizes.
Over 100,000,000/= will be given out to the top performers (teams, individuals and fan groups).

The champions will take home Ug.Shs 50,000,000, a giant glittering trophy and 35 medals apiece.
The second best team will take home Ug.Shs 25,000,000 and silver medals. That said, it is either Kafumbe 1 or Arrows who will take the first or second place since they reached the finals.

“It is now or never. We have done everything possible to reach the final” Bruno Kayongo, team manager of Kafumbe 1 remarked during the official tournament press conference.
The bronze medal match has Pentagon and Kafumbe 2 at 3 PM (early kick off) battling for Ug.Shs 15,000,000 and bronze medals or Ug.Shs 10,000,000.
“Our team to redeem self is during the third place play-off match. We bitterly lost in the semi-finals and fighting for third place will be good consolation” Enock Ssemugera, manager of Pentagon revealed.

Individual accolades lined up:
There are also prizes that will accompany the respective individual top performers. The tournament’s most valuable player (MVP) will take home Ug.Shs 1,000,000 and the team will the largest fans will also take the same prize money.
The best goalkeeper, top scorer, fair-play and best coach will each get Ug.Shs 500,000.


The second edition has witnessed over 40 teams in action which has also provided a platform for players to showcase their full potential as scouts have been able to identify a couple of talented players for the regional, big league and even top flight (Uganda Premier League).
The first edition had only Blocks around Hamz Stadium in action before sprouting out to markets, other building blocks, bus and taxi parks in Kampala city.
Gates will open as early as noon (mid-day). The tickets are available at 10,000 and 20,000 for ordinary and VIP sections respectively via physical means and online (Hamzpay).
