Global blockchain platform Binance and African mobile network operator Africell have announced plans to collaborate on expanding crypto education, blockchain literacy and digital asset services across the continent.
The proposed partnership aims to combine Binance’s global blockchain infrastructure with Africell’s local market presence to support responsible adoption of digital financial tools in Africa.
Focus on crypto services and education
Among the key areas under discussion is the rollout of “Crypto-as-a-Service” solutions. The two companies will explore crypto payment technologies, including Binance Link, to potentially enable crypto payments and other digital services through Africell’s platforms.
Education is also central to the proposed collaboration. The firms plan to introduce co-branded courses and workshops through Binance Academy to strengthen crypto knowledge and digital literacy among African users. The initiative is expected to target both new entrants and experienced users seeking to deepen their understanding of blockchain technology.
In addition, the partnership will examine joint promotional offers funded through Binance’s cost-per-acquisition (CPA) revenue-sharing model. This approach could allow both companies to incentivise user participation while expanding access to digital asset services.
Enhancing peer-to-peer transactions
Another area of focus is integration with Binance’s peer-to-peer (P2P) platform. The companies aim to improve the speed, security and convenience of crypto transactions for users by leveraging Binance P2P infrastructure alongside Africell’s telecom network.
Jack Wong, Business Development representative at Binance, said the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to empowering communities with practical tools for participation in the digital economy.
“By combining global expertise with local reach, we aim to support responsible adoption of blockchain and crypto solutions and create real value for communities,” he noted.
From Africell’s perspective, the partnership supports its broader digital transformation strategy. Nidal Safetli, Africell’s Head of Business Development, said working with Binance would help bring global blockchain expertise into local markets.
“Together we aim to equip communities with the knowledge, technical skills and tools to participate confidently in the digital financial economy,” Safetli said.
Further details on the potential joint programmes are expected in the coming months, with the possibility of expanding the initiative across other companies within the wider Lintel group.
