The Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) has announced dates for the regional Kagame Cup 2025 with 12 teams set to take part.
Uganda Premier league champions Vipers SC will represent Uganda at the tournament scheduled to take place in Dar es Salaam just two days after conclusion of the ongoing TotalEnergies Africa Nations Championship (CHAN).
“We are happy to announce that the tournament will take place September 2-15th in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania,” says Auka Gecheo, the CECAFA Executive Director.
“We expect to have a more competitive tournament as most of the teams will use it to prepare ahead of the 2025/2026 CAF competitions,” added Gecheo.
Zambia Premier League side Red Arrows last year lifted the CECAFA Kagame Cup after defeating Rwanda’s APR FC in the final played at the KMC Stadium where SC Villa represented Uganda.
