Paratus, Roke Telkom to drive enterprise connectivity in Uganda

Paratus Group, a pan-African telecommunications and network services provider, in partnership with Roke Telkom Ltd, has officially launched Paratus Uganda. This joint venture unites the capabilities of both Roke Telkom and Paratus Group to deliver an integrated, full-service connectivity and cross-border solution for enterprise customers in Uganda. Paratus Uganda will also target new industry sectors, including healthcare, mining, tourism, and NGOs.

“We are delighted to be opening in Uganda for many reasons. Not only are we expanding our footprint into another key African territory, but we are also bridging gaps between neighbouring countries and reinforcing our contiguous network offering,” Paratus Group CEO, Schalk Erasmus, said in a press statement.

The Roke Representative for Paratus Uganda, Edwin Kyambadde, said in a press statement, “Our local strength and coverage combined with Paratus Group’s African and global connectivity make Paratus Uganda a strong regional partner for all global and domestic enterprise customers in the region.” Adding “Our highly skilled technical teams across the country bring a wealth of local and regional experience, the support and assurance that national and international industries require for fast, robust, and quality connectivity.”

Group Commercial Executive of Paratus Group, Martin Cox, said, “Partnering with Roke to establish Paratus Uganda is a key milestone in our expansion strategy and reflects our commitment to delivering quality network services across the continent.”

Paratus Group is partnering with key local partners in its expansion across Africa, and they are delighted to partner with Roke Telkom in Uganda.

This milestone comes after Paratus Group announced in September that it had completed its expansion into East Africa, as part of the Group’s ongoing efforts to connect communities and businesses across sub-Equatorial Africa with reliable digital infrastructure.

Across East Africa, Paratus is providing reliable digital services to meet the needs of businesses and communities.

While East Africa currently contributes around 18% of Africa’s total GDP, Euromonitor forecasts that figure will rise to 29% by 2040, with services, infrastructure, foreign investment, and regional integration among the key drivers. The race to build reliable digital infrastructure has never been more critical.

In a region with over 200 million people and a combined GDP exceeding US$200 billion, the East African region is expected to become a significant emerging market in the next decade. The growth will come from numerous industry sectors that are currently benefiting from policy reforms and foreign investment, including agriculture, mining, manufacturing, energy, ICT, healthcare, and infrastructure.

East Africa’s large youth population is also contributing to the growing demand for modern services and products. From Kenya’s fintech industry and Tanzania’s industrial corridor to Rwanda’s digital transformation, Paratus is poised to provide what the region requires in terms of secure, high-performance connectivity, advanced data, and cloud services.
