PSG’s Hakimi out of Morocco squad to face Uganda due to injury

It remains unclear whether he will be fit for the 2025 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations that kicks off on December 21 in Morocco.

PSG right back has been left out of the Morocco squad to face both Mozambique and Uganda on November 14 & 18 respectively.

Hakimi was injured in the 2-0 defeat to Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League in midweek with the club confirming he will be out for several weeks.

 “Achraf Hakimi has severely sprained his left ankle, which will leave him unavailable for several weeks,” read a statement on PSG website.

Meanwhile, the 27-man squad announced by coach Walid Regragui is a strong one for Africa’s number one ranked team and it includes among others Manchester United’s Noussair Mazraoui, Real Madrid’s Brahim Diaz, Sofiane Amrabat of Real Betis and Youssef En-Nesyri of Fenerbahçe in Turkey among others.
